Turn The Page Tuesdays
Let's talk books. Some books you love...some not some much. Others make you see things differently and some you never forget. I love to read as much as I love to write. I can devour a book in a day if time permits and two days if time doesn't. But when I pick up a book and it captures me, and I mean really captures me, there's no stopping. I'll hide from my family, read in the bathroom, fake sickness, show up late to work (when I still punched a clock) and generally just checkout from the world of the living to finish it. Ask my family about the final Harry Potter. I was MIA till I finished.
I hope everyone has read a book that virtually consumed them. And when they were done, all that could be said was WOW! And when that happens, it's magic for authors because readers will tell everyone they know to read it.
I have one book that I have literally told everyone about. I have mentioned it in the past on my blog, Goodreads, emails and any other platform I can. It's not a book for everyone. It’s very erotic. Its plot is somewhat chilling. It's emotional. It's shocking. But it changed what I read and potentially what I currently write. I should be getting a royalty for as much promotion as I have done for this one book, but I would love for someone to promote me in the same fashion and one day hope to produce a piece of work that compels someone to do so.
I know, I know, enough already! What book? Drum roll please................
Comfort Food, by Kitty Thomas
I have shared it by Kindle, recommended it to every one of my friends and now I'm telling you...it's worth reading. If you like it, and I say “if” loosely because it's certainly not for everyone, I have a list of other books that will grab ahold of you and change your reading list and genre forever. It may be a tall leap for some, but if you can live on the dark side for a day or two, pick it up and let me know what you think.
