Leap Of Faith

Well, everything seems to be falling into place. I have been contemplating for some time now about leaving the workforce to pursue being a full-time wife, mother and author. I talked about it, plotted it, dreamed about it, but I was frankly a little "chicken shit" to make the move. I've been working since I lied at 15 to buss tables at a Mexican restaurant (man haven’t I come a long way). I had the chance to retire last year, when we sold my husband’s surgical practice to the hospital and they had a nepotism clause, but I was quickly offered an opportunity to change the entire revenue process at a large healthcare organization. Needless to say, I took it and here we are today. It’s been daunting to think about leaving, so I put it on the back burner. I am the over-achieving, people pleaser that never wants to let people down, but what I discovered was that I was sacrificing what I really wanted. So without drawing this out further, I officially resigned from my day job yesterday. OMG!!!!!!!!!

It felt like I was walking a plank to deliver the letter, but when I left that office, it was like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. I was scared, because I didn't want to disappoint anyone, but by the time I woke up this morning I knew I'd made the right decision. In thirty days, I can be found at home taking care of my family and doing what I love. Writing, Cooking, Crossfit, and Loving Life!

I have to give credit where credit is due. My husband has been a rock. Not everyone gets this opportunity at forty-five and I know without his love and support it couldn't be done.

So, here's to phase two of my life...cheers!

Saying Yes is being "polished"

Merger Undone is at 25,000 words and coming along nicely, so I'll keep you all posted.

Happiness is contagious and I'm giddy with excitement!
